Declaration was adopted during the workshop "Conservation, restoration and wise-use of wetlands and wetland resources along the Black Sea coast", held on 26-27 September 2000 in Odessa, Ukraine by 35 regional and international wetland and waterbird experts representing wetland conservation organisations in Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and United Kingdom. Participans discussed future co-operation in the field of conservation, restoration and sustainable use of wetlands along the coast of the Black and Azov Seas.
