Proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference "Conservation of wetland and terrestrial biodiversity in agricultural lands through landscape optimisation", which was organized in the framework of the project “Wetlands biodiversity conservation in Ukrainian agricultural lands” were published as a special issue of The Scientific Messenger of National Agricultural University of Ukraine.

This Strategy for Waterbird Monitoring in the Black Sea Region gives a brief review of the current status of waterbird monitoring in Black Sea countries and specifies the main directions for its development.
The edition deals with outcomes of bird surveys accomplished in the Azov-Black Sea region of Ukraine during the period from December 1999 to February 2000. The articles include bird species list, data on numbers and distribution of birds on their winter quarters. Special attention is given to the patterns of condition of wetlands birds.
Data on distribution and numbers of breeding waterbirds in 16 wetlands of international importance and 8 wetlands of national or regional level are presented in the monograph.
