The aim of this publication was to develop principles of Management Plan for Sivash, including strategic priorities, methods of implementation management decisions taking into account trends of ecological and social processes.

The articles of the edition include bird species list, data on numbers and distribution of birds on their winter quarters. Special attention is given to the patterns of condition of wetlands birds, raptors.

The review includes legal materials of different levels – from the Ukrainian Laws to Provisions and Instructions. Scientific backgrounds for conservation of wetlands were clarified especially in distribution of water-covered territories, threads to wetlands, mechanisms for conservation and wise use of wetland resources.
